Create a camp cooking tool checklist to ensure a successful trip

from:

If you are planning to prepare some great campfire meals on your next camping trip, you must be sure not to leave behind any essential camp cooking tool. Leaving a key item behind such as a can opener may prevent you from cooking up the meal you had planned. Other camp cooking tools that you may want to bring along will enable you to perform your job as campfire cook more successfully.

A good way to ensure that you will not leave any necessary camp cooking tool behind is to create a camp cooking tool checklist. You can review the checklist before set out for the campgrounds, and then be confident nothing will stop you from preparing the best campfire breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Also, your camp cooking tool checklist can be saved and reused for each following camping trip.

Here are a few essential camp cooking tool suggestions that you may want to include for your next camp trip:

• Can opener
• Sharp knife or knives
• Lighter
• Cutting board
• Pot holders
• Tongs
• Spatula
• Grill
• Cast iron skillet
• Dutch oven
• Cooler

A valuable and popular camp cooking tool is the dutch oven. To prepare some tasty meals that you never thought was possible over the campfire such as muffins, cobblers and pizza, all you need is a dutch oven and campfire. This piece of thick-walled cast iron cookware allows you to bake a wide variety of dishes while being away from your kitchen.

A portable grill is another useful single piece of camp cooking equipment. Grills are great for preparing campfire favorites such as hamburgers, steaks, and hot dogs, allowing your food to absorb a tasty smoke flavor. A variety of different grills, including hanging grills and grills of different sizes, can be found and purchased online.

Food storage is often a problem with camp cooking. To keep foods safe that need to stay cold, such as eggs, meats, and cheese, a cooler is a handy camp cooking tool. Coolers come in a variety of sizes depending on how much food you want to store, and by regularly replacing melted ice, you can keep your food cold for many days.

More simple camp cooking tools can be easy to forget, but will be just as essential for enjoying meals around the campfire. Make sure your can opener is working properly and consider bring a back-up. You may have vegetables ready to chop up and cook, but without a sharp knife or cutting board, this task may become difficult. Be sure not to overlook the simple camp cooking tools before your next camping trip.
